Tesla to Create Humanoid Robot Named Optimus by 2024

Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, intends to create humanoid robots by the end of 2024, as reported by Reuters.

Robotic Revolution Coming Soon?

A humanoid robot named Optimus will be designed to perform various tasks at Tesla factories by the end of 2024. Should we expect its timely release? Elon Musk is known for his unfulfilled promises. For example, in 2019, he promised to launch a robotaxi in 2020, but constantly delays it, citing various reasons, the latest being a design change.

Optimus: The Future of Factory Work?

However, the company plans to release an internal robot in 2024, and in 2025 Tesla plans to sell them. Optimus is a robot that has a humanoid form with two arms and two legs. It stands 173 cm tall and weighs approximately 57 kg. The robot can move independently at a speed of up to 8 km/h, lift objects weighing up to 68 kg, and carry up to 21 kg.

Tesla hopes that Optimus will be able to offset the shortage of labor at factories and successfully perform routine and potentially dangerous tasks.
