Pulmonology Centers Implement Artificial Intelligence for Tuberculosis Diagnosis
Pulmonology centers in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Sumy regions of Ukraine have started implementing artificial intelligence (AI) for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. According to the press service of the Ministry of Health’s Center for Public Health, the AI system automatically analyzes X-rays, presenting possible pathology areas in the form of a thermal map of the lungs.
This innovative solution allows for the detection of lesions with high accuracy — from 1% to 100%. Yana Terleeva, head of the Department of Management and Counteraction of Tuberculosis, emphasized that such advanced technologies not only help fight tuberculosis but also contribute to the development of regional healthcare systems.
