Volunteers from Kharkiv tried to save wild ducks that were injured after a Russian airstrike on an oil base in the Nemyshliansky district and the spill of oil products into the river of the city.

This was reported by volunteer Artem Prykhodko on his page.

«Over the past three weeks, 9 birds have been brought to the ‘Center for Clinical Veterinary Medicine’ for treatment. Unfortunately, five of them could not be saved and died from severe poisoning from oil processing products. Four more birds are still in the clinic. Three males and one female,» said veterinarian Anastasiia Domanska.

Two males will be released into the wild soon, as they have fully recovered, regrown feathers, and healed skin on their feet, emphasized the ornithologist-doctor.
