This spring, Odessa has become a real floral fairy tale thanks to a gift from the Netherlands

42 thousand tulips decorated the city squares and parks, turning Odessa into a colorful paradise.

Perennial Beauty

According to Oleg Sovik, director of the municipal enterprise «Gorzelenrest,» this project is the largest of its kind for the city. The tulips of red, orange, pink, and purple colors were planted in the fall and now grace the city with their beauty.

«With proper care, these flowers will continue to delight us,» Sovik says. The enterprise plans to grow tulips in their greenhouses to gradually increase their numbers in the city.

A Feast for the Eyes

The largest number of tulips, almost 16 thousand, can be found in Shevchenko Park. Other locations include Shevchenko Avenue, Dumska Square, Tenth of April Square, and more. In addition to tulips, other spring flowers like daisies, celosias, and pansies add to the colorful display.

After their blossoming, summer flowers like geraniums, balsams, salvias, and petunias will keep the city in bloom.
