Illegal Logging in Berezivsky District
In the Berezivsky district of the Odessa region, «black» loggers have cut down more than 3,500 trees, including white acacia, common oak, birch, cherry, and other species. This act of environmental vandalism has caused damage exceeding 8 million hryvnias.
Criminal Investigation Launched
Law enforcement officers have launched a criminal investigation under Part 1 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for responsibility for illegal logging. Together with the environmental inspection, those responsible for the unauthorized cutting of mature green plantings have been identified.
