In the Black Sea and the Danube Delta, NATO holds «Sea Shield — 2024» exercises
In the Romanian waters of the Black Sea and the Danube Delta, the large annual military exercises NATO «Sea Shield — 2024» are currently taking place.
The exercises, involving 13 countries — Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Great Britain, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, the United States, and Romania — will conclude on April 21.
This year’s exercise scenario includes planning and conducting combat operations, combating illegal activities, monitoring maritime and river navigation, and conducting search and rescue operations in line with NATO standards to ensure regional security and prevent military threats.
With over 2,200 servicemen from Alliance countries and partners participating in the maneuvers, along with 135 pieces of equipment, including naval and river vessels, aircraft, and combat vehicles, the exercises aim to enhance security in the region.
