In Kharkiv, the Magnolia Blossom Season Begins

In Kharkiv, the magnolia blossom season has begun. According to the press service of the Central Park, the first magnolia flowers have already bloomed, marking the beginning of the spring period.

Beautiful and Ancient Magnolias

Magnolias are not only beautiful but also ancient plants belonging to the Magnoliaceae family. There are approximately 240 species of magnolias that mainly grow in North America and East Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan.

Spring Flowers in the Central Park

In addition to magnolias, snowdrops and crocuses have also bloomed in the park. This year, 11 thousand flowers are planned to be planted in the Central Park, which is three times less than before the war. Throughout Kharkiv in 2024, there will be 1.7 million flowers, including Shevchenko Park, the area around the Mirror Stream, and other city parks. This is more than in 2023 when 1.2 million flowers were planted, but less than in the pre-war 2021 when 2 million flowers were planted.
