Repopulation of «Feldman Ecopark» in Kharkiv
In Kharkiv, a pleasant event took place: the «Feldman Ecopark» collection was replenished with new residents — 26 deer and 20 roe deer were brought to the park from the Sumy region. This was reported by the press service of the ecopark.
During the full-scale war, some animals in the zoo were injured or killed by shelling. The deer suffered from the consequences of the first Russian bombings, which resulted in the death of about 10 individuals, and the rest fled. Now, new conditions have been created for their living in the ecopark, covering an area of over 25 hectares.
The owner of the ecopark, Oleksandr Feldman, noted that in two to three years, it is planned to include deer and roe deer in the program of reintroduction into nature, including the forests of Kharkiv that have been affected by the war.
The administration of «Feldman Ecopark» expressed gratitude to partners for their help and support during difficult times of war, thanks to which the collection of deer and roe deer has significantly increased.
The ecopark suffered greatly from intensive shelling of Kharkiv by Russian troops in 2022, when a significant part of the structures was damaged. During the evacuation, 6 employees died, and in total, about 300 animals died in the park (approximately 20% of the total zoo collection). Since the summer of 2023, the ecopark has resumed its operation.
