On Monday, May 27, the price rose to 7,171 UAH per ton, and by Wednesday, May 29, it was 7,202 UAH per ton. On Thursday, May 30, the cost of this grain crop amounted to 7,219 UAH per ton. This price of corn remains unchanged as of today.
Effects of border blockade on grain export
Economist Andriy Novak noted that the blockade of Ukraine’s western borders does not greatly affect the export of grain. Less than 5% of Ukrainian agricultural products are delivered by land routes. However, this leads to inconvenience and additional costs for both producers and carriers.
We have previously investigated the situation on the Ukrainian grain market and analyzed prices for other agricultural crops, such as soybeans, wheat, barley, and sunflower seeds.
