Head of Ukrenergo Announces Plans to Repay Debt

Volodymyr Kudrytsky, the head of Ukrenergo, has announced that the company is planning to repay a debt of 19 billion hryvnias to power plants operating on the balancing electricity market by the end of the year or even this summer.

«We have been facing a problem of non-payers for decades, mainly state and municipal enterprises that consume electricity but do not pay for it. They owe Ukrenergo 32 billion hryvnias,» Kudrytsky noted.

He stressed the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to this issue, stating that disconnecting such enterprises could have serious environmental and social consequences.

«Repaying the debts to power plants operating on the balancing market will be an important step to support stability in the energy sector,» he emphasized.
