The Mogilev-Podolsk District Prosecutor’s Office indicts local resident for illegal possession of PVP

The Mogilev-Podolsk District Prosecutor’s Office has sent an indictment to court against a local resident for the illegal acquisition, possession, and sale of highly dangerous psychotropic substances PVP in significant quantities (part 3 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by the press service of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the 48-year-old accused ordered a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance — PVP through a telegram channel. The «goods» were delivered via one of the logistics companies to his apartment, where he kept it for further sale. Law enforcement officers seized almost 7 kg of crystalline substance containing the psychotropic substance PVP from the detainee’s residence. The estimated value of the seized substance on the black market is over 3 million hryvnias.

«PVP is an extremely dangerous synthetic drug that belongs to particularly dangerous psychotropic substances, the circulation of which is prohibited. After just two uses, there is a persistent physical and psychological dependence,» noted the prosecutor’s office.

The detainee was arrested under article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. For this crime, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.

Pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the investigative department of the Mogilev-Podolsk Regional Police Department of the National Police in Vinnytsia region.
