The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team ready for Euro 2024 play-off

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team has received a significant boost ahead of the play-off match for Euro 2024 against the Ukrainian national team.

Head coach of the national team Savo Milošević will be able to count on the assistance of a newcomer to the team in the upcoming match, 22-year-old defender from German club Köln, Denis Huseinbašić. This was reported by sport.novi.ba.

The player was born and raised in Germany, played for the German national team at Euro 2023 last summer, but decided to change his sporting citizenship and obtained a Bosnian passport. The FIFA Committee approved the player’s request for a change of football citizenship, and he will be able to help the national team in the upcoming matches.

It is worth noting that this season Huseinbašić has been a key defender for Köln, playing 17 matches in the Bundesliga for the team.

Reminder, the Bosnia and Herzegovina — Ukraine match will take place on March 21 in Zenica. The winner of this match will face the winner of Israel — Iceland for a spot in Euro 2024. It is in these matches that the owner of a ticket to the European Championship 2024 will be determined.
