Construction of International Automobile Checkpoint in Lviv Region to be Completed in Six Months

Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maxim Kozitsky, announced that the construction of the international automobile checkpoint «Nizhankovychi – Malkhovychi» in the Lviv region will be completed within six months. The construction of this checkpoint began in September 2021, and since February 2023, it has been operating for empty trucks, despite the incomplete infrastructure.

Kozitsky noted that the creation of a pedestrian border crossing point could be the next step in the project. On February 10, Kozitsky, together with the new Voivode of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship of Poland, Teresa Kubas-Gul, inspected the progress of the work.

«Madam Voivode mentioned that the creation of a pedestrian border crossing point could be the next stage of the project. I fully support this idea. In addition, last month, the Lviv Regional State Administration submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Infrastructure to supplement the agreement on the creation of the international automobile checkpoint «Nizhankovychi – Malkhovychi» with a railway connection. A similar appeal was sent to the Polish relevant ministry by the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. We are awaiting responses,» Kozitsky wrote on Facebook.

The head of the region also mentioned that the Lviv region is counting on further development of the border with Poland and wishes to create another border crossing point — «Lopushanka-Mikhnovets».
