According to the report of the «Voice of Crimea» agency, the Russian authorities have started dismantling the Cross Exaltation Church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Yevpatoria. Currently, the dome has already been removed and the upper part of the church has been dismantled.
Since 2019, parishioners of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Yevpatoria have been facing pressure due to the implementation of a Russian court decision to demolish the church. Despite ultimatums, the believers did not comply with the court ruling, which forced the authorities controlled by the Russian government to apply to the court to carry out the dismantling themselves.
Earlier in Simferopol, the Russian authorities already removed the dome of the Ukrainian Cathedral of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and Princess Olga. The representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea called this «a continuation of the systematic destruction of Ukrainian identity and everything Ukrainian in the occupied Crimea.»
