The Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office announces suspicion to an entrepreneur
The Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office has announced suspicion to an entrepreneur who illegally misappropriated 1.7 million hryvnias of budget funds.
Details of the investigation
According to the investigation, in 2018 he entered into an agreement with one of the village councils of the former Chornobaivskyi district to carry out work to improve the ecological and technical condition of a water body in one of the settlements. The cost of the work under the contract was about 3.5 million hryvnias.
According to law enforcement suspicions, the entrepreneur inflated the cost of the work by 1.7 million hryvnias.
Potential consequences
The man was informed of suspicion under Article 191 part 5 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property by abusing official position) and Article 366 part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (material damages exceeding the non-taxable minimum income of citizens by 250 times or more). He faces up to 12 years in prison under these articles.
