German Chancellor Scholz Discusses Europe’s Support for Ukraine

German Chancellor Scholz is set to discuss Europe’s efforts to help Ukraine during his trip, in order to support Kiev. Germany has already provided Ukraine with military assistance worth around $30 billion.

Meetings with American Lawmakers and Executives

On Thursday evening, the chancellor will have dinner with American lawmakers, on Friday he will have breakfast with executives of American companies and then meet with the US president. They will discuss Ukraine, NATO, and the conflict between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Close Transatlantic Coordination

«It is important for the chancellor that all countries contribute to supporting Ukraine. Therefore, close transatlantic coordination is very important,» a government official said.

Future of NATO

Scholz also plans to discuss the future of NATO with the American leader but does not plan to meet with Donald Trump.
