Warrior Kateryna Zakoretska Sacrifices Her Life on the Front Lines
Warrior from Lyubotyn community, Kateryna Zakoretska, gave her life on the front lines. This was reported by the executive committee of the Lyubotyn city council, based on information from «Dumka» newspaper.
According to the city administration, Kateryna had education from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. In 2013, she joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a contract basis. As part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the AFU, she defended our country in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. Later, after the start of the full-scale invasion, Kateryna served in the anti-aircraft defense, protecting the sky over the Kharkiv region.
The 34-year-old defender was killed on May 16 as a result of enemy rocket attack. She leaves behind an 8-year-old son without a mother.
The funeral will take place today, May 27, at the Hyivske cemetery.
