In London, the world’s first museum of homelessness has opened. This step is important in the context of the relevance of the issue of homelessness in Britain, where in 2022, 290,000 households sought help due to this problem.

The situation with homelessness in the country is only worsening, as rental prices are rising faster than the basic inflation. In the last three months of 2023, the number of homeless people increased by 16% across the country, which is a worrying trend.

The uniqueness of the museum lies in its offering of an interactive experience, rather than just a collection of items in showcases.

Volunteers tell stories that are collected through donations from former homeless owners. The museum’s collection also includes everyday items such as shopping trolleys and plastic bags, as well as a rough wooden stick with a taped handle that served as an improvised crutch.
