Thinner and Larger Screen Apple Watch Models Expected Soon
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently announced that the upcoming Apple Watch models will feature a slimmer design and bigger screens. These changes are anticipated to be introduced with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 10 in September, alongside new iPhone models.
Enhanced Screen Sizes for Better User Experience
Kuo revealed that the screen sizes for the two models are set to increase significantly. The 41mm model will now have a 44mm screen, while the 45mm model will feature a 49mm screen. These improvements are aimed at providing users with a better viewing experience.
Introduction of Dark Casing Option and 3D Printing Technology
The specifications of the Apple Watch Ultra are expected to remain consistent, with the addition of a possible dark casing option. Additionally, starting in the latter half of this year, Apple will utilize components produced using innovative 3D printing technology.
Although Apple has yet to begin mass production using 3D printing, it has successfully experimented with this technology during the development of the Apple Watch Series 9 in 2023. Kuo emphasized the substantial enhancement in production efficiency as a result of these tests.
Bright Laser Technologies to Supply 3D Printing Components
To support the shift towards 3D printing, Apple will source components from Bright Laser Technologies, a Chinese-based company. Kuo highlighted the cost-saving advantages of 3D printing technology and projected an increase in demand for parts from this supplier in the future. The potential for using 3D printing to manufacture Apple Watch casings was also mentioned by Kuo.
