Illegal Re-registration of «Kuyalnik» Sanatorium Uncovered

Law enforcement agencies in the Odessa region have uncovered the illegal re-registration of the «Kuyalnik» sanatorium as a private enterprise, a deal that deprived the state of property worth one billion hryvnias. The state registrar, without the necessary documents, registered the ownership rights to the sanatorium in favor of a private company.

State Registrar Charged with Unauthorized Changes

The regional prosecutor’s office has charged the state registrar with unauthorized changes to information in automated systems. The court returned the sanatorium back to state ownership.

Broader Scheme of Misappropriating Assets

This incident is part of a broader scheme of misappropriating assets in various regions of the country. As a result of illegal actions by officials without the consent of the State Property Fund, 80 objects were transferred to private ownership, including the «Kuyalnik» sanatorium.

A Once Popular Destination in Need of Repair

Once popular among Ukrainians and foreign tourists, the «Kuyalnik» sanatorium was known as the «Ukrainian Dead Sea». However, many buildings of the sanatorium are now in a dilapidated state and require repairs.
