Kyiv City Council plans to allocate over 1.5 billion hryvnias to support the military.
This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko.
According to him, the funds will be distributed as follows:
995 million hryvnias to support the military under the «Defender of Kyiv» program;
almost 460 million hryvnias for social payments to defenders under the city’s targeted program «Care»;
about 80 million hryvnias for the arrangement of fortifications;
30 million hryvnias as a subsidy from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Vitali Klitschko emphasized that taking into account this amount, Kyiv has already allocated over 6.5 billion hryvnias for security and defense needs since the beginning of 2024.
