Lviv Region Becomes Sister State of California
Lviv region has officially become a sister state of California. This news was announced by the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
On Thursday, April 25, the State Assembly supported a resolution adopted by the Senate in January, establishing sisterly relations with the Lviv region. 69 out of 80 members of the chamber voted for the resolution.
«This decision opens the way for mutually beneficial cooperation between Lviv region and California in the fields of economy, education, science, and culture,» noted the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The statement also emphasizes that the initiator of the resolution was Senator Bill Dodd. Ukrainians in the USA, including those from Lviv region, actively supported this historic decision.
Lviv region has become the second region in Ukraine to establish sisterly relations with an American state. Previously, such relations were established between Kyiv region and the state of Washington in March of this year.
