New Draft Law Affecting Ukrainians Living Abroad

Amid growing concerns about the mobilization of Ukrainians living abroad following the full-scale invasion, a new draft law has been introduced that affects those who have left Ukraine. «Dnipro Operativny» will tell you more about the consequences of avoiding military registration and mobilization.

Changes in the Law

The changes include the following:

  1. Conscription-age individuals who have changed their place of residence are now required to register with the Armed Forces within 7 days and be put on military register at the territorial recruitment and social support center.
  2. Conscription-age individuals must notify the Territorial Recruitment Center of any changes to their contact information within 7 days.
  3. The deadlines for reporting to conscription centers have been changed: conscripts and conscription-age individuals must report to the conscription centers within 10 days of receiving their draft notices, even if they are abroad. Citizens abroad are also subject to mobilization and must contact the nearest Ukrainian diplomatic mission within 10 days.
  4. Individuals who have changed their place of residence or other personal data must report this to the relevant authorities within 7 days.
  5. The introduction of electronic military registration with the creation of a Unified State Register of conscripts. Now conscripts will be able to access services and messages online through the «Diya» portal.
