Crime Wave in Ukraine: Authorities Foil Attempts to Sell Weapons

Criminal groups in various regions of Ukraine have attempted to sell weapons arsenals. In the Poltava region, law enforcement authorities have intercepted a criminal group offering automatic weapons and combat grenades. The perpetrators used their connections in the criminal world to find buyers, but the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained the organizer and two members of the gang during an attempted sale.

In the Zhytomyr region, three arms dealers were also exposed by special services. An AK-47 rifle and a «Jmilya» reactive infantry flamethrower were seized, along with over 20 combat grenades and ammunition.

One local resident has been charged with attempting to sell plastids and explosive devices. He also tried to sell combat grenades and a detonation cord. All these items will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The criminals illegally smuggled weapons from areas of former armed conflict near the front line.
