Polish Farmers Block Shehyni Checkpoint
At the Shehyni checkpoint, Polish farmers have refused to allow any cargo to pass. Protesters are blocking all cargo moving either to Ukraine or towards Poland.
Polish farmers have completely blocked the Shehyni checkpoint, not allowing any cargo to enter or leave Ukraine. This was reported by the representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon on Friday, March 1.
«Today we have a certain change in the Shehyni checkpoint direction. At 1 p.m., as reported by the Polish side, farmers refused to let any cargo pass, either to Ukraine or towards Poland,» he said.
Speaking about the previous situation, the spokesperson for the SBGS noted that there had been a critical minimum in the crossing of trucks at this checkpoint. For example, on February 29, only 47 trucks crossed in both directions.
«And after 1 p.m., we are currently observing directly at our checkpoint that trucks are not moving either from Poland or to Poland. The Polish side is not accepting freight vehicles from Ukraine,» Demchenko said.
A significant decrease in the number of trucks crossing the border remains in the direction of the Yagodyn checkpoint.
Recall that Polish farmers have been blocking the border with Ukraine for several weeks. They are not allowing trucks to pass through the checkpoints and are also destroying Ukrainian agricultural products.
