Attempted Sale of Cars Imported as Aid to Armed Forces in Kyiv Region
In Kyiv region, an attempt was made to sell seven cars that were imported under the guise of aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as reported by the State Customs Service.
The used cars — Volvo, BMW, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and two Opel vehicles — were brought into Ukraine in April 2024 as humanitarian aid without paying taxes. A resident of the Bucha district attempted to sell them, with potential buyers already lined up.
However, since the cars were being used for purposes other than intended, the individual now faces accountability for evading customs duties. Seven protocols for violations of customs rules have been opened against him, and the cars have been confiscated as evidence.
