NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Meets with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has invited Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas to the headquarters for discussions on preparations for the Washington Summit, particularly in support of Ukraine.

As reported by the General Staff of Ukraine, Stoltenberg emphasized the importance of long-term support for Ukraine, which will provide the country with greater stability. The summit will also discuss strengthening NATO deterrence and defense. It was noted that 23 Alliance countries will invest over 2% of GDP in defense this year.

Stoltenberg acknowledged Estonia’s contribution to Alliance security, highlighting that the country invests over 3% of GDP in defense and provides unprecedented support to Ukraine.

Additionally, the strengthening of Estonia’s defense capabilities was discussed, particularly through the deployment of a Spanish air defense battery. Stoltenberg emphasized the importance of NATO’s global partnerships, which will remain at the center of attention in Washington and beyond.
