The Success of Job-Turbo Program for Ukrainian Workers in Germany
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Germany has reported on the success of the accelerated employment program for citizens of Ukraine and other countries called Job-Turbo.
«Currently, about 192,000 Ukrainians are employed and paying social taxes, with over 48,000 working part-time,» the department noted.
The Ministry has refuted some media reports about the failure to achieve the «plan» of employing 200,000 Ukrainians.
«The figure of around 33,000 individuals mentioned in the media does not reflect the total number of Ukrainian workers successfully employed through Job-Turbo,» emphasized the Ministry.
As for the «plan,» the goal of the program was to provide employment opportunities for Ukrainians who have successfully completed integration courses and have basic knowledge of the German language.
The Ministry highlighted the increase in the number of job vacancies registered with the Federal Employment Agency, which almost doubled over the course of three spring months.
In March 2024, Labor Minister Hubertus Heil and Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeiev emphasized in a joint letter the importance of working in the German labor market for all Ukrainians seeking employment.
