Ukrainian Volunteer Army (UVA) soldier Stepan Kovalchik on Women’s Role in Defense Sector

Stepan Kovalchik shared ideas on how women can be involved in the defense sector if the government decides on their mobilization. He noted that there are various areas where women can effectively work.

Possible Roles for Women:

  1. Patrol police: Kovalchik noted that mixed crews are already successfully working in the patrol police, and women can handle this task well.

  2. Military enlistment offices: According to him, women can hold any positions in territorial military enlistment offices, where they will be supported by soldiers who have been injured in the conflict zone.

  3. Territorial defense battalions and volunteer community defense formations: Kovalchik believes that women can perform important tasks such as guarding bridges, crossings, and critical infrastructure buildings, including serving at checkpoints.

  4. Training: The soldier believes that women can be useful in conducting training for young people, teaching them military service skills and helping to develop necessary skills in critical situations.
