Police Uncover Underground Workshop Producing Counterfeit Clothing
Police in Odessa have uncovered an underground workshop specializing in the production of counterfeit clothing imitating well-known international brands. The workshop, located in an industrial area of the city, was producing fake goods using logos and names of over ten popular brands. According to the Bureau of Economic Security, the owners of the mentioned brands suffered significant financial losses due to the criminals’ activities.
The organizer of the illegal production turned out to be a foreigner who was overseeing the process of applying logos to the clothing. During the search of the workshop, industrial equipment used for sewing and labeling clothing, as well as finished products, fabrics, and other materials, were seized. The counterfeit items were being sold both retail and wholesale through online stores and markets throughout Ukraine.
The value of the seized goods and equipment is estimated at around 1.8 million hryvnias. Investigative actions are currently ongoing to identify all individuals involved in this illegal activity.
