In the conditions of war, consumer sentiments in Ukraine have undergone significant changes, as evidenced by a study by Deloitte.
Consumer Expenses in Ukraine
According to the research data, Ukrainians’ main expenses are on utility services, rent, and debt repayment, making up about 28% of income. Food and essential products account for around 38% of expenses. The least amount of money is spent on electronics, household appliances, education, sports, beauty, and leisure services. Only 2% of total expenses are used for education, but under ideal conditions, Ukrainians would like to increase investments in education to 3% of income, especially young people aged 18 to 27.
